Two Brides – A Halloween Wedding
November 6, 2009
Reesa and Julie had a very unique and memorable Wedding. Everything took place at the Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills.
Since Maryland unfortunately still does not legalize gay marriages, this wedding was a Commitment Ceremony but they also had a Jewish Ceremony.
Reesa and Julie decided to split the day up a little differently. First they had a ceremony that was held by the family and themselves. It was so beautiful and intimate. The Family spoke to them and they spoke to eachother. This ceremony was one of the most heartfelt Ceremonies I have ever witnessed. The people that really matter in the relationship (parents, friends and of course the couple) spoke from their heart. So beautiful!!!
This Ceremony was followed by an appetizer reception, a very nice and laid back mingeling with fun snack foods.
After that, the second ceremony began, which was a traditional jewish ceremony (Reesa and Julie are both jewish). Unfortunately it started raining right before the ceremony and everything had to be moved inside last minute.
This ceremony was followed by a second reception.. a dessert reception.
I was amazed by how close the whole family seemed to be with eachother. Throughout the ceremony I saw people hugging and holdings hands everywhere. It was amazing! So much love in one place!!
Reesa and Julie, thank you for letting me be part of your amazing day! I wish you all the best!
Look at these chubby cheeks!

Jake and Jen – Engagement Session
October 27, 2009
… at the beautiful Patapsco State Park that is now covered in brown, yellow and red leaves. Did I mention I love that place?
Jake and I had been emailing back and forth for a while to figure out a location for the engagement shoot and we decided to go to the State Park. They both liked it a lot and I was happy it worked out for them
Jake and Jen are a really fun couple and I enjoyed climbing around in the park with them. I am looking foward to their wedding in april next year!!!
Caroline and Kevin – Engagement Session
October 26, 2009
I want to post this Blog before I am off to bed since I am pretty sure Caroline is sitting on pins and needles
Caroline is such a sweetheart and her and Kevin make the cutest couple. I met Caroline a little while ago when she came over to talk about wedding photography, but the day of the engagement session was my first time meeting Kevin. Seeing them together was a joy!!
Our session was scheduled for last saturday but the weather report was looking less than pretty. For a good week we emailed back and forth, trying to come up with a back up date. In the end we moved the session to sunday. While saturday morning ended up being nice after all, sunday was gorgeous!
We met in Fells Point and just walked around town for a while, taking advantage of all the pretty colorful doors, gates and homes. Fells Point is so much fun!!
I am really excited to shoot their wedding on july 16th 2010!!
Not one Bride but TWO !!!!
October 22, 2009
Meghan and Heather met with me quite a while ago and I loved them both instantly. They are just such a fun and easy going couple. I was thrilled when they chose me to be their wedding photographer.
The wedding was on October 17th at the beautiful Celebrations at the Bay.
Now, this wedding is the perfect example, that no matter what goes wrong it all doesnt matter because everyone is going to have a good time nonetheless.
It was pouring rain the day of the wedding and ones we got to the location some crazy wind mixed into the rain (with it being right at the water I guess the wind just picked up). So we decided that the Formal pictures will be taken inside, which we did.
The younger one of the two absolutely adorable flowergirls did a great job walking down the aisle – picking up after the big girl who dared to throw flower petals on the ground. Haha… it was hysterical!!
During the reception there was a – let’s just say mishap – but everything was back on track quickly.
The day was beautiful none the less. I was watching Meghan and Heather throughout the day and there is just so much love in between them. At one point I was actually getting teary eyed, just watching them dance.
Then there was this darn cute little ringbearer…. 3 years old and for whatever reason loving me. He was literally attached to my pants throughout the entire reception (see picture). Now, some of you know that I have two kids … but I have no clue, whatsoever, what to do with other peoples kids. I felt charmed – and completely helpless. Haha, I think he was quite alright with that! He is such a cutie pie!!
Aaaaanyway, to make a long story short…
Heather and Meghan, you guys ROCK!
Jack!!
October 18, 2009
I met Stephanie (Jack’s mom) about 2 years ago when we talked about their wedding plans. Her and Jake ended up having to reschedule their wedding because he got deployed. That worked out perfectly because I found out I was pregnant, due around the time of her wedding (and no, there is no chance I will ever be pregnant again.. haha)
Ones they rescheduled their wedding (for a year later) she rebooked me to do their wedding photography. This time it was her turn to be pregnant though. She was VERY pregnant by the day of the wedding and beautiful little Jack was born not too long after.
I was excited to take his newborn pictures and a few days ago I finally saw him again to take his 1 year pictures.
Stephanie, you know I love you, you have become a dear friend to me. Jack is so handsome, you guys did a great job
Meet the Contest Winners – Angie and Tony
October 14, 2009
Remember the Engagement Story Contest that I ran recently? Tony and Angie where the lucky Winners.
Fells Point was their location of choice and we added on more shots in Federal Hill. We had lots of fun and they were both open to all my nutty ideas.
Fells Point is a really awesome place for pictures.. all the colors and textures are just amazing.
Congrats again Angie and Tony, I hope you enjoy your pictures!
Cathie and Nick – WOW!!
October 9, 2009
Cathie and Nick… what can I say but WOW!!! What an amzing couple and what an even more amazing wedding!
2 years ago Nick was a groomsmen in a wedding that I photographed and that’s (obviously) when I met them. I was excited when they contacted me a while later with the news of their engagement.
The wedding took place on October 3rd, 2009 at the Engineers Club in Baltimore.
It was the most beautiful wedding I have seen. The location was so pretty (dark, but gorgeous), the ceremony was beautiful and emotional with lots of tears from the bride, the bridesmaid and the father of the bride. The Reception was A BLAST! Cathie and Nick had choreographed their first dance as a surprise to their guest and they did such a great job. Everyone was loving it!
Instead of a DJ they had a band for the night (Mood Swings Big Band) and they rocked the evening. WOW!!
The very next day I met with the both of them again to TRASH THAT DRESS! We went to my (yes, I know again…) all time favorite place: Patapsco State Park We ran out of light a bit faster than expected but had lots of fun none the less!
Cathie and Nick, you guys ROCK! Congratulations!!!
Intimate Wedding of Tara and Jeremy
October 9, 2009
Tara and Jeremy chose the beautiful Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air as their wedding venue. The big day was september 26, 2009
The weather reports weren’t looking so hot and considering they were hoping to have the Ceremony outside, we all were just waiting and hoping for the best. Well the best it was!! The rain held out until after the ceremony and Formal Photographs, then started while everyone was inside and stopped again before the wedding ended. Nobody ever got wet!
The wedding was, with about 30 people a small and intimate wedding. Instead of a “traditional” Reception it was more of a cozy mingeling where everyone had a chance to talk..
I loved Tara’s idea of the tablesettings.. she used boardgames as her centerpieces! What a fun idea!!
And her bouquet – WOW – would you even think those are silk flowers????
Congratulations Tara and Jeremy!
Lauren – Senior Session
October 3, 2009
Lauren saw Izzy’s Senior pictures on my Blog (check a few pages back) and decided to skip the classic draped Studio Senior Pictures and go for fun images outside as well. So we scheduled a session at my all time favorite place to shoot…. Patapsco State Park.
I am really having fun with this Senior Picture thing….
