This little guy is such a handsome and sweet little man. He is all smiles and has the most amazing big, dark blue eyes! He is 6 month old now and full of personality. I just love this stage .. it has been my favorite with both my kids and it is my favorite age to take pictures of.
I had so much fun taking Charlie’s pictures!!

When Crystal said she wanted to trash her dress she sure meant it!! . Our session involved the Patapsco River (up to their chest), some fruit and cupcakes, red wine and Face Paint. My little Photographer and Facepainter heart was in heaven. I had soooo much fun with these guys.

Crystal, it has been such an honor to me to be with you guys every step of the way … engagement pictures, wedding pictures… now the Trash The Dress. I hope to see you back soon! Love you guys!

Leah and Zack are my neighbor’s kids. Leah just turned two and I can hardly believe that she is already this big. It feels like we just moved here recently and when I first met Leah, she wasn’t even walking yet!

I love taking pictures of children… most of all, I love to portrait them as they are. I am not a huge fan of the “perfect posed picture”. Yes, I guide them towards a general idea but from there I capture what they do with it. May it be a headstand on my prop instead of sitting on it, a big grin with a giant gum sticking out, or running circles, giggling. That’s what I like to capture – their personalities. And Leah sure is full of personality.

Happy Birthday Leah!

Rain, rain rain… all these past days rain and the forecast calls for rain for all the days to come. But yesterday we lucked out with good weather and it so happened to be the day that I had scheduled this family for a park session. We really lucked out!! Little Ryan just turned one and his big sister Addison is almost 4!! I had tons of fun with them!

I am sure most of you have heard of the Kennedy Krieger Institute. It is an internationally recognized institution located in Baltimore, Maryland dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with pediatric developmental disabilities through patient care, special education, research, and professional training. You can read more about it at the Kennedy Krieger Website

I was recently contacted by the Kennedy Krieger Institute about photographing their 2011 Society Reception. The purpose of this reception was to honor members of the Kennedy Krieger Society and their guests as well as presenting volunteer awards and to recognioze those donors that have been donating anually for 25 years or more.

Kennedy Krieger has a special meaning to me. I don’t make it a secret that I suffered from Tourette Syndrom most of my life … but in my childhood it was very bad. Back then nobody had any idea as to what was wrong with me. I was in a mental institution for children and yet nobody ever diagnosed me. I was the “crazy” kid. You can imagine how terrible of a feeling it is to be different than everyone else, your body doing things you can’t control and there is no name for it.
It wasnt until well into my adulthood that I saw a report on TV about Tourette Syndrome and I knew immediately that this is what I had. My emotions overflowed me… a mix of anger and disappointment for not knowing all these years and yet happiness that finally I knew there was a name for what I had.

If only an Institution like Kennedy Krieger had existed back then, my life would have been so much easier. Because of an amazing Institution like Kennedy Krieger, other children won’t have to go though the same thing I did. I have two sons that are at high risk of inheriting Tourette Sundrome… it worries me to no end but at the same time I feel safe, knowing that places like Kennedy Krieger exist.

No matter if ADHD, Autism, Tourette Sundrome, or any other of the many problems that a child can have …. Kennedy Krieger has specialists that know about it and can help! People travel here from all over the world to see certain specialists from Kennedy Krieger. This program is just so amazing to me!

Needless to say. I was honored to be working for Kennedy Krieger at this spring reception. The event was held at the largest residence I have seen in my entire life. WOW!!! The original plan was to have the Award Ceremony outside in the gorgeous gardens but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so everything was moved inside … which wasn’t a problem at all as there was plenty of space.
I enjoyed listed to Gary Goldstein, the President, as he talked about amazing breakthroughs in treatments of certain illnesses. Children that once ended up in a mental ward with an IQ of 20 can now live a normal life … just by eating a certain diet. I could have listened for hours but awards were to be given… maybe some day I can find out more 🙂

Anyway, I have been rambling forever …. here some of the images …

I love taking newborn pictures.. no matter if they are happy or not … a newborn just can’t be anything but cute.

This family has been coming to me for quite some time with their daughter Taryn. When they told me that they were expecting again I was so happy for them .. and then they added that it is not one but TWO babies, I was even more excited.. !

Finally, Tristan and Teagan were born on April 29th, both weighing in at over 6lbs!!!

At 3 weeks old I finally got to see them when they came to my studio for their newborn session., together with their adorable sister Taryn!!

Can you imagine… 3 kids under the age of two .. wow… mommy and daddy sure have their hands full!

Tristan and Teagan were certainly not happy about all the flashing lights and moving them around. Poor guys ….. but cute none the less 🙂

Taryn was so excited when it was her turn for pictures that she just striked one pose after another for me. She is such a ham.

3 beautiful children… can’t wait to see them grow!!!

Happy Birthday Cayden!

May 18, 2011

Wow, the last time I saw little Cayden he was only a few days old. And now he is 1 !!! He is such a handsome little guy with an amazingly mellow personality.. what a cutie!!!

Jackson is back!

May 17, 2011

Little Jackson is already 9 month old!!! Wow, how can time possibly go by this fast? It seems like yesterday that I took pictures of his pregnant mommy at her best friend’s wedding. And there he is 9 month later and cute as a button!

I met with Misty and her family at Centennial Park a few days ago for family pictures of her, her husband, her 2 year old daughter and her 3 step children. It was a beautiful day out and of course the park was full of people, tanking up on some vitamin D 🙂 But the crowd dind’t really bother us, we found plenty of fun spots to shoot at.

I had a great time with the entire family and even got myself a little tan 🙂

Silly Monkeys!

May 11, 2011

Lyra and Killian are something else. The funniest busy bees around.

They started the session a bit shy … ok well … they wanted nothing to do with me and my camera. But about 10 minutes into it they both changed their minds and showed their silly little personalities. It is funny to watch them 🙂
